CQ Roll Call’s Benenson Resigns

After 30 years, senior political analyst Bob Benenson has decided to leave CQ Roll Call.

Benenson joined Congressional Quarterly in 1981 as a writer for Editorial Research Reports.  He went on to become CQ‘s longest-running politics editor, from 1998 until the company’s merger with Roll Call in 2009. He worked as a politics reporter for the CQ Weekly Report from 1985 through 1993, legislative reporter from 1993 to 1995, a legislative editor in 1997, and as a writer, editor and manager at the presidential conventions of 1988, 1996, 2004 and 2008. In 2006 he was the founding editor of CQPolitics.com.

Bob and his wife are moving to Chicago to tend to family responsibilities.  His last day with the newsgroup is May 27th.  Good luck to Bob!
