Court TV Closes DC Bureau

FishbowlDC has learned that CourtTV is closing their DC Bureau. No word yet on future plans for lead correspondent Savannah Guthrie.

We hear that the decision to close the bureau stems from Court TV’s new ownership, Turner, which is moving the network in a different direction. Court TV will have a new name (“Tru tv”) starting in January and the emphasis is away from news. In addition, CourtTV likely realized that there were very few cases in D.C.
