Cool "Disco" Dan Makes His Mark On D.C.
Cool “Disco” Dan, a graffiti legend in Washington, is the subject of a new documentary that will be premiered at the AFI Theater in Silver Spring on February 23rd at 8pm. “The Legend of Cool ‘Disco’ Dan” will focus on Dan’s graffiti art that spread through the streets of Washington, D.C. It will also examine the era that saw the rise of G0-Go music, rampant crack abuse, racial tensions and media sensationalism.
Graffiti historian Roger Gastman and filmmaker Dan Pattisall say that they spent over 10 years researching and documenting the unknown stories of Cool “Disco” Dan for the movie.
