Content marketing, which Wikipedia defines as “the creation and sharing of media and publishing content in order to acquire customers”, was one of the buzz terms of the year, and it’s set to continue to influence the world of marketing as we head into 2014.
Indeed, 92 percent of marketers already use content marketing, and 58 percent of B2B and 60 percent of B2C marketers plan to increase their budgets in this space over the next 12 months.
Bottom line? Expect specific positions and teams dedicated to content marketing, better use of multiscreen and SEO, higher quality throughout the sector and an overall improvement in curation – the new customisable timelines from Twitter and showcase pages on LinkedIn should help brands better organise this content.
