Consumers Shared 6.3 Million Tweets About E3 2015 [Infographic]

The ESA has released an infographic containing stats from the gaming trade show.

Following this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, the show’s owner and operator, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), has released an infographic for the show’s stats, highlighting, in part, the use of social media during the event. E3 is a trade show for computer, video and mobile games and related products.

More than 1,600 products were shown at this year’s E3 from 300 exhibitors, a third of which were international companies. The event drew 52,200 video game professionals, analysts, journalists and enthusiasts, and was followed by many more around the world, resulting in a record 6.3 million Twitter posts relating to the event. In addition, a record 7.5 million likes were posted on Instagram posts related to E3.

More than 21 million viewers watched E3 content on Twitch, which is almost double the number of viewers from 2014. In total, more than two million E3-related videos were posted to YouTube and Twitch.

While E3 has traditionally favored console and PC games and developers, the growth of mobile resulted in 74 mobile game exhibitors at this year’s show. Virtual reality was also on the rise, with 27 augmented and virtual reality exhibitors showing off their products to attendees.
