Congressman Takes To Twitter To… Make Passover Movie Title Puns?

With Congress off for its Passover-Easter recess, U.S. Representative Ted Deutch, a Democrat who represents southwest Palm Beach County and northwest Broward, took to Twitter.

But he wasn’t wishing his constituents a happy holiday, nor tweeting about pertinent legislation like the Supreme Court’s current deliberation over the Defense of Marriage Act.

Deutch was sending a series of tweets with the hashtag #PassoverMovieTitles. And they were exactly what that sounds like.

Apparently the 140-character Passover punning started at Deutch’s family seder, when his daughter threw out a holiday themed twist on movie titles.

Among the three dozen-plus titles he tweeted or retweeted – yes, the Twitterverse got in on the punning!:

“Silence of the Lambchops”
“Seder Private Ryan”
“Let My People Argo”
“X-odus Men”
“Four Questions and a Funeral”
“War Horse Radish”
“ShawShankBone Redemption”
“Dude, Where’s My Karpas?”
“Matzo Do About Nothing”
“Matzo Mia!”
“Matzo Balls of Fury”
“Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Matzo Factory”
“Silver-Linings Plague-book”
“Rocky Maror Picture Show”

Some of the user submissions were even better:

Hilarious, right? Peculiar. But hilarious. And, we must say, Deutch made great use of the new Twitter line breaks.
