comScore: Daily Mobile Social Use in the EU Up. Social App Use Leads the Way

comScore’s data indicates that as of September 2011, 23.5% of mobile users in the European Union accessed social network sites. And, 46.8% of this group used a social network service daily. These daily users grew signifcantly over the two measurement periods a year apart. The audience using social networking sites daily from a mobile phone grew 67% between September 2010 and September 2011.

More people accessed social networking sites using a mobile browser rather than an app (31,307 vs. 24,208). However, the use of apps grew much faster than mobile browser use (101% vs. 31%).

EU Mobile access of social network sites familiar to U.S. mobile users also showed large audience increases over the 12 month period. LinkedIn showed the most growth although it has the smallest audience size. You can see the percentage growth for Facebook, LinkedIn an Twitter in the list below.
