Compared to Bush, Obama Takes To The Op-Ed Pages Early
In light of Pres. Obama’s op-ed in today’s WashPost, CBS News checks in with White House correspondent and “presidential guru” Mark Knoller for a comparison to Pres. Bush’s publishing history.
According to Knoller, Pres. Bush penned op-ed pieces at least four times. His first piece was not until August 12, 2001, eight months into his presidency, on stem-cell research. The following came on the one-year anniversary of the Sept. 11th attacks, then November 4, 2004 on why he should be re-elected, and his last on January 20, 2005, the day of his second Inauguration.
