In celebration of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, Facebook gamers can now play Team USA’s Pinsanity, collecting pins for their virtual collection by answering trivia questions, making trades, and spinning a daily wheel for prizes. The app works to educate players about the US Olympians, celebrating their medal wins and more.
Players have a wall on which to display their pins, and can organize the layout of these pins on multiple boards. Some boards offer free placement of pins, while others contain slots relating to very specific pins. Users can answer trivia questions about this year’s US Olympians to receive free pins, or can spin a prize wheel to receive free prizes each day.
Pins (and pin booster packs) can also be purchased with free or premium currency, traded for other items, or earned for free on the game’s Facebook fan page. This page contains codes to enter back in the game, but some are only valid for a limited time.
Each pin can be clicked on for additional details, which may offer stats concerning a specific sport or athlete, general facts about Sochi or the Olympics, and more.
Team USA’s Pinsanity is available to play for free on Facebook. It joins another Olympics-themed Facebook game, as 101XP released its city-builder Sochi 2014: Olympic Games Resort last December.
