CNN’s Navarro Claims Jeb Heard the Iraq Question Wrong

The old "I misheard the question" defense...

CNN political commentator and GOP strategist, Ana Navarro, is coming to the defense of her former boss, Jeb Bush, with a hot take on why he told Megan Kelly that he would have authorized the Iraq War.

According to Navarro, the ex-Florida Governor “misheard the question,” and told her so in an email conversation: “I emailed him this morning,” she told the cast of “New Day.” “And said to him, ‘I’m a little confused by this answer. So, I’m genuinely wondering, did you mishear the question?’ and he said ‘yes, I misheard the question.'”

During the interview which aired Monday, Kelly bluntly asked, “knowing what we know now, would you have authorized the invasion?”

“I would have,” responded Bush. “And so would have Hillary Clinton, just to remind everybody. And so would almost everybody that was confronted with the intelligence they got.”

When asked by CNN’s Chris Cuomo what Bush’s answer actually was if that was not his true opinion, Navarro, seemingly surprised by the question, responded, “I didn’t ask him that second question..”

“So, you had that first question and didn’t ask the second question?” said a puzzled Cuomo.

Her defense: “It’s too early in the morning for me to be exchanging emails and being coherent about something that happened 10 years ago.”

Eventually, former Clinton advisor and her fellow CNN political commentator, Paul Begala, would sarcastically reply,“I didn’t know he had a hearing impairment and we pray for his swift recovery.”
