ClipSync Lets Viewers Share the Best Clip of a Video

These days everyone is sharing videos with their friends online, but how often have you seen someone share a video with a comment like "The best part is at 5:28?" Wouldn’t it be nice if instead of having to share a whole video you could share a single moment, quote or scene? Today social TV platform ClipSync is announcing ClipSync Moments—a new application that lets viewers socialize around the video moments that matter most to them. With ClipSync moments, viewers can start conversations around a specific time code in a video at the click of a button, so instead of telling their friends "The best part is at 5:28" they can simply share the scene, quote or moment at 5:28 so instead of sharing all of The Big Lebowski I could just share the scene with my favorite quote--"I don't roll on Shabbos!" Itzik Cohen, CEO and co-founder of ClipSync says, "ClipSync Moments is fixing today’s broken conversation around digital video. We are now able to capture the conversation, self-expression and passion around fans’ favorite movie scenes and moments and connect it with their social graph. We know that content needs to be bite-sized and contextual in order to be socialized and shared. ClipSync Moments accomplishes this for movies and television, making it the most captivating social viewing product in the industry." According to a press release, "An impressive list of media partners has already committed to socializing their premium video content with ClipSync Moments. The list is headed by EPIX, a cross-platform premium entertainment service that is a joint venture between movie studios Paramount Pictures, MGM, and Lionsgate." EPIX Chief Digital Officer Emil Rensing says, "ClipSync Moments enable our viewers to share the movies and performances they love and discover new favorites. EPIX is excited to work with ClipSync to offer new viewing experiences and connect fans to their favorite movies and artists." As viewers everywhere become more connected, tweeting, Facebooking, chatting and checking in while watching TV shows, movies and online videos, the need for more effective ways of sharing and socializing around video content has become more and more apparent.
