Cleverbug Marks 1st Birthday With $6M In Funding

Social gifting company and CleverCards creator Cleverbug celebrated its first birthday in style by announcing the closing of a $6 million funding round, led by Delta Partners, which brought total equity investment in the company to $8 million.

The company said the funding will go toward accelerating business development, further expansion in the U.S., and new product developments.

Cleverbug announced last October that it was rebranding as CleverCards, and the CleverCards applications for iOS and Android allow Facebook users to personalize and send photo-based greeting cards, both electronic and physical.

Cleverbug Founder and CEO Kealan Lennon said in a release announcing the funding round:

This time last year, Cleverbug was a simple birthday card iPhone app with elegant social graph technology.
