Chuck Scarborough Takes on Hurricane Earl from Southampton

Hurricane Earl proved to be non-existent from New York City to the west. However, Long Island, specifically out on the East End, is where the storm made a brief appearance.

The local stations spent several minutes instituting their standard “team coverage.”

From the resident meteorologist to the reporter on the scene where the worst of the storm hit, it was all familiar stuff–except on WNBC.

Channel 4 had Chuck Scarborough away from the anchor desk to anchor their storm coverage portion of the newscast.
