Census Figures Confirm Surging Latino Growth
Newly refined U.S. Census figures released this week show that the Latino population has grown to more than 50 million, with a growth rate of 43 percent, while other ethnicities have not grown as fast. More than half of the growth in the total U.S. population between 2000 and 2010 was because of the increase in the Hispanic population, the Census figures state.
