Sex and the City creator Candace Bushnell’s newest series isn’t debuting on HBO: The Broadroom, a new Web series that takes “a humorous look at women in the workplace addressing everything from breast feeding, to relationships, to male bosses,” will debut on Maybelline.com Wednesday.
The four-part series boasts some star power, including Jennie Garth (Beverly Hills, 90210), Jennifer Esposito (Samantha Who?), Talia Balsam (Mad Men); Broadway actress Mary McCann and newcomer Lauren Devereux.
The Broadroom was written by Bushnell; produced by Meredith in association with Co.Op TV; and directed by Ellen Gittelsohn (Roseanne, Designing Women, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air).
The four Webisodes of The Broadroom will debut Sept. 9 and 25, and Oct. 9 and 23.
Lesley Jane Seymour, editor in chief of Meredith’s More, said:
While the workplace is the backdrop for these Webisodes, women everywhere will recognize something about themselves in these characters. Candace has created funny and relatable situations that will get water-cooler conversations started all over the world—that’s the beauty of the Internet!
And Maybelline New York vice president of integrated communications Deborah Marquardt added:
Women today, with all that they juggle at home and at work, lead such complex and colorful lives. Candace has once again captured the emotions, challenges and humor that come with balancing our personal and professional lives. Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lip Color is thrilled to be a part of this series saluting fabulous, confident women.
