Canadian Telecom Company TELUS Powers Vending Machine With Tweets
The power of the tweet: it can cast your vote for the MTV Video Music Awards, help knit a sweater, power a cuckoo clock – and win you a free stuffed panda.
Earlier this month, a vending machine in Vancouver mall Pacific Centre dispensed 3,000 free stuffed pandas to anyone who tweeted #HomeTweetHome, reports Mashable.
The creative Twitter campaign was sponsored by Canadian telecommunications company TELUS, and also included a charity component. Every tweet with the #HomeTweetHome hashtag netted a $1 donation to the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) Canada, a conservation group – hence the pandas.
