The average like total for the top 100 U.S. Facebook pages of apparel and accessories retailers was 2.8 million, while that figure was 1.7 million for Europe, but it took at least 136,000 likes to crack the U.S. list, while 16,000 was enough for Europe, according to a recent study by social media management suite Campalyst.
Campalyst also found that:
- The top 10 apparel and accessories retailer pages in the U.S. average 14.7 million likes, while those in Europe averaged 12.1 million, meaning that in both regions, the top 10 contributed hefty portions of the total for the top 100.
- 87 of the top 100 in the U.S. and 77 of the top 100 in Europe publish status updates with links to their online stores.
- More than 40 percent of status updates by the U.S. group and more than 33 percent of those by apparel and accessories retailers in Europe were aimed at driving traffic to those stores.
- Link tagging, or adding tags to links so they can be tracked by analytics services, is used by more than one-half of retailers on both lists in their Facebook posts.
