The Washington DC Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) has put out a call for entries for its annual Dateline Awards contest. The contest is open to journalists and publications based in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area and covers a broad range of categories, from the more traditional breaking news and investigative journalism sections to infographics and front-page design.
Lest you social media short-formers feel left out, SPJ DC is introducing a social media division this year, covering Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
The postmark deadline for entries is February 27. Awards will be given out at a dinner at the National Press Club in June.
