California will be Murdering Fewer Trees Next Year

I hope you won’t miss that paper phone book; it’s about to go the way of the dodo.

The state of California has decided that Verizon will no longer have to distribute the white pages of the phone book anymore. The residential listings will now be offered digital only, leaving just the government listings, the Yellow Pages and business listings to be distributed in paper. Verizon expects that this will save around 1,870 tons of paper each year.
