Entertainment publisher BUZZMEDIA announced its latest site launch: The LiveBuzz, which will offer live performances from both established and up-and-coming artists, along with news about music and concerts, interviews, and other features.
Nic Harcourt, who was named managing editor and programming director of BUZZMEDIA Music, will lead The LiveBuzz. Harcourt is the former host of KCRW‘s Morning Becomes Eclectic and a music writer and supervisor/consultant for film and TV.
The LiveBuzz launched with a lineup of acts curated by Harcourt, including My Morning Jacket, Sean Lennon, David Gray, Corinne Bailey Rae, and Delta Spirit. The site will offer live performances, many from recording studio The Village Recorder in Los Angeles, as well as interviews, photography, industry news, reviews, content from live shows, and weekly features.
Weekly features on The LiveBuzz will include: “Shows Gone Wild,” recapping the most memorable, notorious, shocking, and talked-about moments in live music performances; “Art Rock,” the best concert-poster art of all time; and “Incognito,” highlighting the most unappreciated members of bands.
BUZZMEDIA president Alan Citron said:
Nic’s reputation for talent discovery and introducing music fans to new artists is unparalleled; there is no question that he helped catapult the careers of many of today’s most popular musicians. There’s a great demand for high-quality live performance videos online, and we are certain that The LiveBuzz will become a great resource for those looking to be exposed to new music and experience intimate performances by major artists they already love.
And Harcourt added:
The LiveBuzz is about showcasing great talent via extremely high-quality video of intimate performances music fans would not typically be privy to. I had been thinking about new ways to bring my voice and passion for music to an online audience for some time, and given BUZZMEDIA’s tremendous track record and the great insight they have into the music-fan psyche, I’m really excited to embark on this new project with them.
