'Bro, What Are You?'

The Washingtonian’s Harry Jaffe writes in the September issue about the battle of the intriguing byline: The verdict? The Post’s new music critic, J. Freedom du Lac beats NYT scribe Jenny 8 Lee‘s ass. Du Lac’s name is the most made-up sounding byline in the 15th Street newsroom since Mike Allen was officially hired.

While we appreciate learning about the people behind the bylines as much as the next person, it’s somehow disturbing to know that the guilty pleasure of the Post’s musical guru is listening to Abba‘s box set.
