Breaking: Paul Cavalconte Remains with 101.9 as News Anchor
WEMP/101.9 had the long-awaited launch to all-news today. Merlin Media had been reducing its adult contemporary music in recent days, while increasing its newscasts throughout the day.
FishbowlNY has learned that interim 101.9 morning host Paul Cavalconte is staying on as a news anchor.
Cavalconte is a veteran of the 101.9 freqency, having worked there since 1998 as a jock with WQCD/CD 101.9. He remained when Emmis flipped the Smooth Jazz station to Alternative Rocker WRXP.
