More brands are electing the use of social media for an increase in name recognition this holiday season. In keeping with the Bizo survey, brands are aiming their marketing efforts toward social shopping into the fall season; and then without stopping, they are going all the way to the holiday season.
The increased presence of their brands in social media will raise shoppers’ awareness of the brands, which will lead to more product sold online and offline.
Executives surveyed for the report stated that social media was viewed as ‘most important’ (65%) for the upcoming shopping seasons along with email ranked second (46%) and content marketing third (45%).
Other notes of interested from the survey were:
•55% report they measure social success based on the number of followers they have
•14% say they know social analytics – tracking, targeting and so forth – improve campaigns
•63% say they’ll begin working in social analytics ‘soon’
•19% of executives say they’ll improve content offers over the next quarter
All in all, many brands are seeing that ecommerce is here to stay. Research is needed in order to discover ways to make ecommerce simpler for both the consumer and retailer as well as increase the number of followers.
I am looking forward to reading the reports on the holiday shopping season after the holidays are over. It will be interesting to see how much shopping online has increased compared to the year before.
