Boston Globe Cuts 42 Jobs

The Boston Globe is cutting 42 jobs, mostly managers in advertising, circulation and marketing.

The layoffs announced Thursday do not include any newsroom positions. The Globe cut 48 jobs earlier this year through voluntary buyouts.

The newspaper also announced that business managers of its Web site, Boston.com, will report to Globe publisher Steve Ainsley, instead of the digital unit of The New York Times Co., the Globe’s owner. Globe editor Martin Baron already oversees editorial operations of both the Globe and Boston.com.
