It doesn’t matter what Donald Trump says or does, he seems to have become the “Teflon Don” in terms of #PRFail stories bouncing right off his hairpiece and landing in the middle of 5th Avenue. So, let’s see how he does with this story from the Boston Globe.
(SPOILER ALERT: He has already done something. Keep reading.)
Police shared a report of two Southie boys who were (allegedly) walking home from the Red Sox game when they came across a 58-year-old homeless man who was lying on the ground and shaking (no note as to why). So, they decided to break his nose, batter his chest, heavily bruise his arms, and pee all over his face. And, as they told the Boston police, they had a relevant reason.
“Donald Trump was right, all these illegals need to be deported.”
The story quickly made it to Trump, who had no problem giving a quote about his disdain for what happened and expressing condolences for the abused homeless man. Take it away, Donald.
After he was informed about the incident, Trump told the Globe, “it would be a shame . . . I will say that people who are following me are very passionate. They love this country and they want this country to be great again. They are passionate.”
Passionate. Nationalistic. Wait, that’s it?
Who is handling PR for this guy?! Oh yeah, these folks. Well, this could have been a nice opportunity for Trump to speak up, defend the homeless man, back the Blue, and do the right thing. Instead, he just did the thing he always does.
Who knows. Maybe this will give him five extra points in the next CNN poll.
