Pubs Wake to Breaking News In Boston

TV aside, most news organizations were inactive when news broke early Friday morning that one of the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings had been killed following a shootout with police. But not The Daily Caller.

The DC‘s Gregg Re began a running blog post at 12:30 a.m. which was updated through the night into daylight hours.

“I’ve been posting throughout the night, but since the crack of dawn our entire editorial team has been contributing significantly,” Gregg told FishbowlDC.

Most other publications began coverage of the incidents and the developments that followed after 5:30 a.m.

WaPo— 5:38 a.m.

Politico— 5:42 a.m.

HuffPost— 12 a.m.

The Hill— 5:50 a.m.

The Daily Beast— 6:42 a.m.

Correction: This post originally stated that HuffPost began its coverage at 5:46 a.m.
