Bloomberg’s Talev Named President of the Washington Press Club Foundation

Three journalists elected to its board of directors.

The Washington Press Club Foundation’s board of directors has elected Bloomberg’s White House correspondent, Margaret Talev, to serve as president of the board, according to a press release from the Foundation.

The press release also announced the elections of Christina Bellantoni (Roll Call) to vice president, Sheila Casey (The Hill) to treasurer and Louis Jacobson (PolitiFact) to secretary, as well as three additional members to its board: Deborah Berry (USA TODAY)Caren Bohen (Thomson Reuters) and Seung Min Kim (POLITICO).

“Margaret has been an instrumental member of the board of directors from day one, working on virtually every aspect of our programming. Under her direction, the Foundation will find new and better ways to honor and elevate the roles of women and minorities in the media,” said outgoing president David Meyers (CQ Roll Call) in the release. “Deborah, Caren and Seung Min, all excellent journalists, will bring new voices and new energies to a board stocked with hard-working volunteers. I am excited to see where they go from here.”

The incoming group joins the Foundation’s mission in “working to expand opportunities for students in Washington, DC, newsrooms and spearheading other projects that highlight significant accomplishments in journalism.”
