Bloomberg TV Adds Fmr. Defense Sec. William Cohen as World Affairs Contributor

Cohen will appear regularly on the network to provide analysis and commentary on domestic and international issues and events.

Former Defense Secretary William Cohen has been hired by Bloomberg Television as a World Affairs contributor, announced the news organization on Wednesday.

“I am excited to help Bloomberg viewers around the world better understand the intersection of government and business,” said Cohen in the announcement.

In 1997 under President Bill Clinton, Cohen became the first elected official in modern US history to be part of an administration’s cabinet led by a different party than his or her own. Cohen, who served in Congress for 24 years, was also a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and the Intelligence Committee and the Government Oversight Subcommittee.

“We selected Secretary Cohen as contributor because of his global reputation for non-partisan and thoughtful analysis, which complements Bloomberg’s editorial coverage as we continue to develop multi-platform content viewing experiences,” said Claudia Milne, head of Bloomberg Television in the U.S.
