Blogging in a "War Zone"

harrigan.jpgFrom the home of his producer’s wife’s friend in Baton Rouge, (reiterating the lack of hotel rooms) Fox News’ Steve Harrigan blogs his journey to get into New Orleans.

After finding gas, an ATM and a Wal-Mart in Baton Rouge he and his crew now have fresh clothes, bug spray, foil packs for tuna and water and the “ace in the hole: an anti-lice shampoo.”

Yet he notes, “There is so much stuff I did not bring — an irridium phone, water purification tablets — because I thought I was going to a hurricane, not a war zone. The last time I needed water purification tablets was Afghanistan. I didn’t think I’d need them in Louisiana.”
