Biggest Loser Resorts Start Off 2012 with a Bang

A few weeks ago, the New York Times published an undercover rave review of the Biggest Loser Resort in Ivins, Utah. Tonight, a new ad promoting that destination debuts during the NBC TV show.

It’s all part of what is shaping up to be a very big year for the five-star fitness and nutrition spinoff, which licenses the Biggest Loser name, operates a second location in Malibu and employs show participants such as Jessica Limpert and Ramon Medeiros. Just like the TV progam, there have been some remarkable resort success stories; one male Ivins guest for example shed 122 pounds over the course of several stays.

“Ramon and I are currently enrolled as guests at the Biggest Loser Resort at Fitness Ridge in Utah, to gain a better understanding of the guest experience,” Limpert tells FishbowlLA from Ivins following a morning Red Rocks hike. “Then it’s back to Malibu, where we are preparing to work as personal trainers and also coordinating appearances around the country as motivational speakers.”

The 26-year-old Limpert and her 27-year-old boyfriend (pictured) are no strangers to the media spotlight. Last year, their on-show romance generated press coverage in People and many other outlets. The couple moved on to the Malibu location immediately after the Season 12 finale, following some unusual in-between movements.

“When I was eliminated in episode 7, I moved back to Pittsburgh with three trainers including “ultra marathoner” Suzie Albert,” Limpert recalls. “Ramon joined me for three weeks after he was eliminated in episode 10, then we returned to Colorado for marathon training. Once our marathon ended, we then headed back to LA and then continued training for the show finale.”
