Bienvenue a Miami: French Modern Sources at Design Miami

Our first stringer has checked in from the sultry white beaches of Design Miami! The lovely Lyn Winter sends us her photos from “French Modern Sources” an exhibition by the Georges Pompidou Art & Culture Foundation (which is based right here in Los Angeles). The show featured iconic furniture, models and drawings by pioneers of French Modern design: Pierre Chareau, Eileen Gray, Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, and Jean Prouve; and one hot little outfit by the plastic surgery artiste Orlan.

Scott Stover, executive director of the Pompidou Foundation; writer Sarah Medford with Robert Rubin, president of the Pompidou Foundation (and once owner of Prouve’s Tropical House: he donated it to the Foundation).
