BuzzFeed Washington bureau chief John Stanton today announced on Facebook that he’ll join Joe Scarborough as a regular panelist on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
“excited to be joining Meet the Press as one of their regular panelists, thus giving all you degenerates who are just getting home from partying something to watch on sunday mornings,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
Stanton told FishbowlDC, “Even getting the chance to do it once is super cool,” and we look forward to seeing him come Sunday AM and for many weekends to come…as do many of his Facebook friends!
One friend of Stanton’s commented, “First sign of the apocalypse.” Another friend in four separate posts wrote, “Wait for it… Wait for it… Congratulations. Bitch.” An MSNBC-er shared, “If it’s Sunday, it’s SLAAYYYEEERRR.” And most importantly, a Washington media person asked, “But now you won’t be able to stay out late Saturdays. or will you?” Let’s hope he will.
Stanton will join Scarborough, Cook Political Report’s Amy Walter, and WaPo’s Nia-Malika Henderson at the roundtable this weekend for Chuck Todd’s long-awaited and highly anticipated debut as moderator. Also to air is an exclusive interview with President Barack Obama, pre-taped this weekend at the White House, for broadcast Sunday morning.
