What is this Snapshot thing and why do I only get ten seconds? pic.twitter.com/5RfsywwE2Z
— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) November 16, 2015
With the above tweet, the world is introduced to Sanders’ Snapshot…er…Snapchat account. Sanders previously mugged for the Snapchat cameras, appearing as part of the Snapchat elections story, a feature all users can view. But this marks the debut of his own account on the social media app.
Following recent standard Snapchat account promotion protocol, Sanders’ Twitter icon has changed to his Snapchat avatar/QR code, so users can add the candidate to Snapchat right from Twitter. Clicking on the code from within the Snapchat app automatically adds the senator to your friends list.
Sanders’ foray into Snapchat puts him in league with users Hillary Clinton, Carly Fiorina, Lindsey Graham, Martin O’Malley, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio, all hoping their snaps will attract the attention, of course, of millennials.
