Bedbugs Could Cost NYC Big Money
New York City is the capital of bedbug infestations. The problem the city is having with these persistent critters is not only giving us the willies, it’s affecting our bottom line.
The AP (via Crain’s) reports that travelers are making changes to their plans to avoid coming to NYC, which may cost the city money. New York’s tourism industry is worth $30 billion.
“Industry professionals—who have privately told city officials that they are nervous about bedbugs hurting New York’s reputation—say publicly that they are not aware of any bedbug-related cancellations,” the story reads.
