We don’t mean to sound alarmist but we are DOOMED.
First an antagonist in disaster movies is our governor. He gets easily thwarted by bureaucracy, “girlie men” and special election voters. Then there are IOUs issued instead of actual money. Then the state catches on fire. Now? Now a city hall reporter at The Glendale News-Press Melanie Hicken, tries to cash her $29 tax refund check from the state of California and it bounces.
