BBC to Launch U.S. News Site

The British Broadcasting Corp. is making a big move in the former British colonies, as it is set to launch U.S.-focused news site BBC.com Thursday, with a staff of about 10 journalists producing the site from its bureau in Washington, D.C., AdAge.com reports.

BBC.com currently defaults to U.K. home page BBC.co.uk, but that will change Thursday, as BBC.com senior vice president Miranda Cresswell told AdAge.com:

We want to build on the momentum of our business. We tripled ad revenue last year from the year before, and we plan on doubling this year.
