BBC DC Bureau Plans


    DCRTV hears that the UK’s BBC News is getting “very active” on this side of the Atlantic. In the fall, the BBC will launch two new shows aimed at American viewers from its Washington news bureau, one at 7 PM and one at 10 PM. The earlier one will be seen on BBC America. Rome Hartman, formerly of CBS News, is overseeing production for the shows, which will be known as “World News Today.” DC-based BBC anchor Katty Kay may anchor the 7 PM broadcast. BBC correspondent Phillipa Thomas is anchoring the 10 PM show with co-anchors in London and Singapore, we’re told…..
