BBC App Update Lets Subscribers Download Video Content To View Without Wi-Fi

In a move to help its subscribers cut down on high data costs, the BBC is making its letting on-demand streaming subscribers download content for a limited period at no extra cost. Using the most recent update on the BBC iPlayer iOS app, subscribers can download TV shows and watch them without having an Internet connection, and keep the shows for up to 30 days.

Daniel Danker, the broadcaster’s general manager of on-demand programs, told Apple Insider: “This fundamentally changes one of the most annoying restrictions about viewing programs.
