Just when it appeared that the class-action lawsuit against Facebook over the use of users’ images in sponsored stories had been settled, Batman showed up — Jo Batman, that is, of Corpus Christi, Texas.
In a letter Batman sent to U.S. District Court Judge Richard Seeborg in May, Online Media Daily reported, he argued that Facebook’s revisions to sponsored stories were not enough to remedy potential problems, and he took issue with the social network’s move to require users under 18 to state that a parent had agreed to its terms of service.
According to Online Media Daily, it was not yet clear what Batman said in last week’s filing.
The settlement also faces objections from Public Citizen and the Children’s Advocacy Institute at the University of San Diego’s Center for Public Interest Law, Online Media Daily reported.
Readers: Do you think Judge Seeborg will (or should) take another look at the settlement agreement?
