An internal staff notice out of ABC News’ DC Bureau, obtained by FishbowlDC:
There is a water main break several blocks from the bureau that is affecting water pressure on neighboring streets including DeSales. Until further notice, the only bathrooms in the bureau that can be used are those on B1, B2 and B3. Bathrooms on floors 1 through 7 should not be used at all. If we continue to lose pressure, we’ll even lose use of the B1, B2 and B3 bathrooms. The Mayflower Hotel has agreed to let our employees use its bathrooms; however, arrangements are also being made to bring a truck with portable facilities to our garage as quickly as possible.
While repairs are being made to the water main, Security will conduct
additional fire watches because our sprinkler system is also impacted.
Finally, the temperature in the bureau could rise approximately 10 degrees or so because the chiller will be affected; however, it’s a cool day and hopefully this will not present a problem. To minimize that issue, please turn off any unnecessary lighting, electronics, etc.
