Baquet in the saddle

Dean Baquet assumed the editorship of the LAT yesterday. I’ve just read today’s paper in its entirety, and it looks pretty good except for an even-less-funny-than-usual ‘Sally Forth’ strip which I suppose Baquet can’t be blamed for. L.A. Observed has a round-up of upcoming media coverage of the LAT, including a Ken Auletta New Yorker story on the paper/the future of newspapers in general, a Los Angeles Magazine piece by L.A. Observed’s Kevin Roderick and a Nikki Finke LA Weekly column on the Calendar section which, reports Roderick, “editors in Calendar are bracing for.”
