BackFence.com Expands...Finally
BackFence.com, the website that essentially combines citizen journalism with the bulletin board feel of Craig’s List, has finally expanded to another city: Arlington, Virginia. The site was originally seen as a potential threat to local newspapers, as it aimed to cover the hyper-local news (local meetings, sports, school news, etc. that might escape the papers) that some papers might simply not get around to covering.
But the site has grown slowly, not registering nearly as many users as it would have liked.
