Atlantic Reporter’s Nightmare is Over

Friends, family and colleagues to Clare Morgana Gillis can breathe a sigh of relief. The freelance reporter writing for The Atlantic and USA Today, crossed the border into Tunisia today, a day after being released by the Libyan government.  American reporter James Foley of GlobalPost, Spanish photographer Manuel Brabo, and British freelance reporter Nigel Chandler also crossed into Tunisia with her.

Gillis was detained by the Libyan government for six weeks. Her time there swayed between a women’s prison and a luxury hotel. We trust we’re going to learn more from her in the coming weeks.
