Exclusive: Apple to Buy Quattro Wireless for $275 Million

So, what is Quattro Wireless, you might ask. That was certainly what I asked reading Kara Swisher’s headline. At first I thought it might be some tiny cell phone company I had never heard of. But, no, it is not. Quattro Wireless is a mobile advertisement platform company.

So, Google bought AdMob, Flurry and Pinch Media are getting together, and, now Apple has its own mobile ad company. Since Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch dominate the mobile advertisement space, the other mobile ad platform firms might be quaking in their boots or, at least, hoping Android gives Apple a run for its money (literally) in 2010.
