Apple App Store Cracks 10 Billion Downloads, With 7 Billion in the Last Year
Apple said iOS app store downloads crossed the 10 billion mark today. However, the most interesting numbers the company revealed suggest the rate at which consumers are downloading apps has at least tripled in the last year.
In the first year and a half, Apple saw about 3 billion downloads. In the last year alone, the company saw 7 billion downloads, said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. Without factoring in acceleration, that’s about 580 million apps downloaded per month.
