App Folders For Home Included In Update To Facebook For Android App

Late last month, Facebook added application folders to its Home Android overlay in the beta version of Facebook for Android 3.4. The feature went live Monday as part of an update of the social network’s Android app.

Late last month, Facebook added application folders to its Home Android overlay in the beta version of Facebook for Android 3.4. The feature went live Monday as part of an update of the social network’s Android app.

The folders feature on Home allows users to drag app icons on top of one another to create folders, name the folders, and add them to their app drawers for quicker access.

Facebook said an improved app launcher was the most requested feature for Home since its launch in April, adding that it is working on support for widgets in order to ensure that the Home launcher is comparable with other Android launchers.

The updated Android app also allows users to:

  • Share News Feed stories in private messages.
