AP Names White House Team

Some new roles and beats.

The Associated Press has made some changes to its White House team. Details are below.

  • White House reporter Kathleen Hennessey will lead the group under acting bureau chief Wendy Benjaminson and assistant bureau chief David Ake.
  • Julie Pace continues as the chief White House correspondent.
  • Julie Bykowicz will cover Trump’s business conflicts and ethics and influence.
  • Economics reporter Josh Boak will cover economic policy and the budget, tax reform, trade and infrastructure spending.
  • Ken Thomas will cover Mike Pence, trade and labor politics and congressional relations.
  • Darlene Superville will cover press access and transparency, Melania Trump, the social calendar, White House traditions in the Trump era and other East Wing activity.
  • Jon Lemire will cover Trump when he’s in New York and his New York operations.
  • Vivian Salama will cover foreign policy, the future of Guantanamo Bay and Trump’s Supreme Court nominees.
  • Catherine Lucey will cover Ivanka Trump, family and child-care policies and Medicare.
  • Jill Colvin will cover environmental and climate issues.
