Starting in the spring of 2010 through the fall of 2015, Andrew Zimmer (pictured) served as Thrillist’s New York editor. Then it was off to Time Out New York for a deputy editor perch.
Now, per a forthcoming announcement from Thrillist, Zimmer has returned to the Group Nine Media website as editorial director:
“Andrew brings a ridiculously deep knowledge of our categories–the food and drink space especially–along with a natural eye for the things in this world that are truly amazing, exciting and just damn fun, which is at the core of what Thrillist is all about,” said Thrillist chief creative officer Ben Robinson. “I told him when he left for Time Out that he’d be back, in kind of a playfully menacing way, and I’m damn glad he is.”
It gets better. Zimmer is taking over for Robinson, who was promoted to CCO in October and concurrently continued to serve as editorial director. Zimmer returns on the heels of Thrillist’s best month yet for web traffic.
No doubt Zimmer, who started Monday, will be applying some of that “ridiculous” food and drink knowledge to some celebratory meals.
