Anderson News Suspends Operations

In the showdown between wholesalers Source Interlink and Anderson News and magazine publishers over the threatened seven cents per copy delivery price hike — which resulted in Sports Illustrated and People among others not making it to Wal-Mart shelves last week — it looks like the wholesalers are losing.

Folio: reports that Anderson has “suspended normal business activity” and that “only a skeleton staff remains.” In a statement the company said it will “continue to hold discussions with publishers and retailers, trying to develop a viable model that allows it to remain in business.”
