Independent music fans may want to check out AmieStreet.com, a community-driven online music retailer that just unveiled a new look and user interface and added some new features.
The company said in a statement that the new AmieStreet.com, now in beta, comes a year after announcing a strategic investment by Amazon.com. During this time, AmieStreet.com has increased the size of its music catalog from less then 100,000 DRM-free MP3s to over one million; during the same period, the company has grown from 5 to 21 employees.
The company claims that the average customer spends $30 at AmieStreet.com, and continues to grow its customer base by 18 percent month over month. Anything you buy in this store will work on any cell phone with an MP3 player app due to the lack of restrictive DRM. Check out the new site at beta.amiestreet.com.
